Exponential Decay of Quantum Wave Functions
I’ve no doubt that for ODEs, the questions and techniques for exponential decay of solutions go back a long way, maybe even to the nineteenth century. For one body systems with decaying potential, I think they are at least in Titchmarsh’s book. For ODEs with explicit polynomially growing potentials there are precise asymptotics going back to the at least the middle of the twentieth century. My ...
متن کاملInteracting relativistic quantum dynamics for multi-time wave functions
In this paper, we report on recent progress about a rigorous and manifestly covariant interacting model for two Dirac particles in 1+1 dimensions [9, 10]. It is formulated using the multi-time formalism of Dirac, Tomonaga and Schwinger. The mechanism of interaction is a relativistic generalization of contact interactions, and it is achieved going beyond the usual functional-analytic Hamiltonian...
متن کاملProgram for quantum wave-packet dynamics with time-dependent potentials
We present a program to simulate the dynamics of a wave packet interacting with a time-dependent potential. The time-dependent Schrödinger equation is solved on a one-, two-, or three-dimensional spatial grid using the split operator method. The program can be compiled for execution either on a single processor or on a distributed-memory parallel computer.
متن کاملHartree-Fock and Kohn-Sham time-dependent response theory in a second-quantization atomic-orbital formalism suitable for linear scaling.
We present a second-quantization based atomic-orbital method for the computation of time-dependent response functions within Hartree-Fock and Kohn-Sham density-functional theories. The method is suited for linear scaling. Illustrative results are presented for excitation energies, one- and two-photon transition moments, polarizabilities, and hyperpolarizabilities for hexagonal BN sheets with up...
متن کاملRegularity of the Multi-configuration Time-dependent Hartree Approximation in Quantum Molecular Dynamics
We discuss the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree (MCTDH) method for the approximation of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation in quantum molecular dynamics. This method approximates the high-dimensional wave function by a linear combination of products of functions depending only on a single degree of freedom. The equations of motion, obtained via the Dirac–Frenkel time-dependent va...
